Meeting Off Site for Home Business

It’s not a good practice to bring clientele into your home for appointments. It opens you and your property to possible liability claims as well as takes away the solace of the home. When you work at home, it’s hard enough to separate life and job, so committing to keeping customers out is essential.
Be sure that on your printed materials you are clear to show "Meetings By Appointment Only". It is also a good practice to have a different mailing address than your home. It protects the ‘drop-in’ visitor.
There are many options for meeting away from you home office. A phone meeting is always favored. For us, we prefer telephone or internet dialogue through a message/chat client or VoIP.
If you must meet in person, you can rent space in most cities for business meetings. Most hotels have conference rooms and there is always your local Starbucks or coffee shop.
Whatever your choice, know that there are high and low cost options. A daily office rental could be $500 where a conference room at the local coffee shop is free. In all meetings, create an environment of professionalism.
