When considering a home business make sure you spend some time in discovery to ensure you are ready to start a home based business.

• Is your home suited for business?  Be sure your home can house a business.  If you have a small or flat level home and live by yourself it’s one thing, but if you have a family, you are going to need space for privacy.
• Are there restrictions in your neighborhood that prohibit a business in a residence?  Check with the local authorities on this issue.
• Do you have broad band or DSL in your area?  If you aren’t wired you won’t work well.  The internet is an essential piece of any company.  Be sure you have the speed to do use it well.
• Do you need storage for inventory?  Does the local USPS or shipping companies pick up and deliver to your location?

Consider other areas that could cause you grief by starting your business at home.  The last thing you want to do is get going and discover that it won’t work for your style or type of business.
