One of the most difficult rules to remember when you’re setting your own hours is that you have to have set hours. I know, I know, you like the flexibility of your ‘any hours’ lifestyle, but you are always more productive when you adhere to some sort of routine.

And, your family will appreciate your applying the routine.  For their sake, you need to have a time when you put the computer away and give them your full attention.

Of course, I’ll also remind you that you will eventually burn out if you do not set office hours and, at least a few hours a day, get away from the glow of your computer.
