Work At Home Scheduling

Scheduling your calendar as a home business owner can be taxing at times.  Especially when you have clients in different parts of the country and the world.

Learning to effectively schedule and make appointments is critical in today’s world of fierce competition and busy lives.

Never make an appointment without your calendar in front of you.  Always explain that you must be in front of your schedule before considering an appointment.

When you have an appointment scheduled, be sure to email a confirmation of the call or meeting to the other party so that there is no question they have the same information regarding time and place.

Use tools for time zone changes, be sure to know exactly what ‘time’ each person is considering.  You say 1 PM and if you are not clear as to EST etc, you will find yourself with an early lunch appointment if you live on the west coast.

If you are unable to make an appointment, call in person.  Don’t send an email that could fail to send or the party could not be available for email during that time.  Always notify the other party immediately when plans change, even if the meeting is weeks away.  This will open the time for other business.

Keep you appointments written down or logged digitally and don’t erase them once they are over.  These calendar entries make a great journal of events if you ever need them.
