Setting Up Your Home Office
August 1st, 2006 by admin
Setting up a home office should be much like setting up your office at work. You should find an area in the home that is at least semi-private and that is relatively quiet. You want to be able to work from home with at least some of the distractions cut to a minimum. Here are some other things to keep in mind as you set up your home office space:
- Set up the room in a way that is comfortable for you
- Have the telephone placed so that it is easy to answer
- Put in small plants to help relieve mental fatigue
- You might try putting in pictures of family members and pet, much like you would at a more traditional office
- You can decorate the walls with awards and certifications that you have received
Making your home office a more comfortable version of a “real” office can help you separate out work time from home time, and it can help you work with fewer distractions.
