A Broadband Connection
When you operate out of a home office, you need a fast, reliable Internet connection. While dial-up may be cheap, it is not always the best way. The download times are much slower, and you may find that there are some things that you just can’t do with a dial-up connection. Broadband Internet access is one of the best home business tools you can acquire when you work from home. Plus, it is partially tax-deductible.
Broadband Internet

There are two main types of broadband Internet access: cable and DSL. For the most part, either of these is acceptable. Check to see what is available in your area, and which offers the best deal for your money. Neither of these will interfere with telephone use like dial-up does.
Satellite Internet
In some cases, cable or DSL may not be available. If you live in the northern hemisphere, and have a view of the southern sky, you should be able to use satellite Internet. However, satellite Internet is rather expensive, and it is not as fast as broadband direct lines (but still faster than dial-up without tying up your phone line).
