Consider Becoming A Work-At-Home Call Center Agent

Editor of Workathomedesk.com, Manish Singh believes one of the best Work At Home Strategies is to consider working as a virtual customer-service agent.

There are numerous legitimate services that employ these people, often as contractors for major retailers, banks, and other companies, both large and small. Odds are favorable you have encountered these contractors as a customer yourself.

Rather than drive miles and miles to a call center where they sign in, these people have a commute of just a few dozen steps. Plus, they get to wear what they want, work when they want, and even get the time to pick up the children from school!

Besides the requisite experience, the main qualification for working at home as a customer service representative is a broadband Internet connection,

“Armed with the technology of high-speed internet connections and call routing software solutions, call center simply route their incoming customer service calls to your personal computer,” Singh explains. “These are incoming and inbound calls only. No telemarketing or selling is involved.”

The work is varied, he points out.

“Typical call center agents perform duties, such as, taking and logging orders, processing transactions, appointment setting, providing customer assistance and making various types of reservations,” notes Singh.

So who might investigate opportunities as a call center agent? Singh recommends stay-at-home-moms, retirees, college students, and individuals who have mobility challenges but are already adapted to communicating from home.

This is a great opportunity for those who are looking for supplemental income and an opportunity with weekend hours available during the day, evening and graveyard for maximum flexibility,” Singh writes.” Expect to make an realistic income of $8 to $15 per hour depending on your experience, call volume and accounts.”

Plus you can work as much as you want. Usually that will mean a minimum of 20 hours a week, with 60 hours a practical maximum.

And the technology?

“As you typically work from your home, in addition to having a pleasant voice and strong customer-service skills, you must have high-speed Internet access, a computer, a landline, and a quiet place to work — all of which you pay for on your own,” Singh adds.

But consider the upside! As he points out, all hiring, training and scheduling is conducted online and best of all, you get to work from home!
