Work at Home: Carpet Cleaning

carpet-cleaner.jpgI have several friends who work at home. They are also successful. They do not make millions, and live the average middle class lifestyle, but they are happy with their situation. One of my friends, who also happens to be my next door neighbor, has two jobs. He is not “technically” work at home, but he does base his business out of there. He is a carpet cleaner, and over the years, he has amassed a large number of clients. He was very smart about selecting his target market. He lives near a wealthy neighborhood, and almost exclusively handles large estates. He has, over time, developed and cultivated a great relationship with all of them, so not only does he get repeat customer, he also does not have to bother with advertising. He sets his own schedule and has a lot of free time to boot. He does not have to pay for a rental office, and his only overhead is his specialized van (which I believe is paid off). Jobs like this do not create themselves, but owners can sometimes be bought out. This would save you the trouble of spending years to develop a large clientele. I’ll post more ideas for good jobs in the future.
