Work at Home: Prepare to meet your clients

work-at-home.jpgIf you work at home, you may find it a challenge to meet face to face with your client. Although I am sure your clients would be impressed by hospitality, the home is not the best place to conduct a meeting. You may have children, pets or other distractions. In addition, you have to deal with any loud work being done near your home or community. Here are a couple ways to approach the problem for people who work at home. Take your client out to eat. Schedule a meeting during the lunch hour and treat your client to a modest meal. Your client will be impressed and grateful for the thought. Talking over a meal will also help to break down any potential barriers because it is much more of a intimate environment than a business office. You will also have the added benefit of getting work done during time you would not normally be industrious. Secondly, you could make the trip to your client’s office. This would also impress your client, and it would give you an opportunity to see, first hand, your clients operation. They do not necessarily need to know you work at home, so these two ideas could help you to cement your business relationships.
