Work At Home Strategies and Flextime

Often, the most successful Work at Home Strategies don’t necessarily involve starting a new business out of your home from scratch, but by being provided leeway from your current employer to work for them from home.

No one is suggesting you slack off from your current job while you are on the clock from home. But then again, not having to deal with traffic can save you a precious hour or two you can then devote to planning launching what may very well be a very successful home based business.

The key to this is a concept called flextime.

With flextime, you choose set work hours thatwill  differ from regular shifts. Two related concepts: daily flextime arrangements let you start and stop work at different times each day, while an arrangement  called Compressed Workweek lets you work more hours each day to work fewer days each week.

According to the San Antonio-Express News, in March, JPMorgan Chase relaunched its 15-year-old flexible workplace program. Best Buy announced it is rolling out a program to allow employees to work anywhere, anytime.

The newspaper also noted that about 75 percent of American workers have access to flexible work arrangements, up from 67 percent in 1995, according to the Hewitt Associates consulting firm.

Aïssatou Sidimé, who is a Business Writer for the Express-News, notes that most flexible work is negotiated through informal conversations between employees and supervisors.About 52 percent of all flexible work was arranged informally, according to a survey by WorldatWork, a human resource association.
